The title of this series in porcelain is "Abuse," by Laurent Craste. I like the way they seem to freeze a moment in time. [via core77]
These rock my socks off!!!
Illustrator and designer, Stephanie Davidson, created this awesome and tiny button book with accordion page. I love the images inside! [via Bonkers About Buttons and @SisterDiane]
Brussels sprouts are one of the hottest trends in food right now. No, seriously! I've seen them on the menu at a billion hip restaurants. Everyone does them differently, but the common thread is slicing them and then browning them. The crispy caramelization is a far cry from the mushy steamed Brussels I ate (and detested) as a child. This recipe from onecaketwocake is absolutely worth a try.
Nicole Deponte makes these rosette brooches from old neckties - neat technique! [via Cool Hunting]
This is one of the coolest Valentine's projects I've come across yet :D
I've been thinking about doing this project for a long while now - I wanted to do it for our wedding and think it would be a sweet gift for our friends that get married but haven't gotten around to it and wasn't sure how to make it on such large scale.
This is a cute version too:
These are so adorable and sound delicious! I think I'll make some this week :D
It's Pillow Month over at Sew, Mama, Sew! Check out this neat technique for inserting a zipper in your pillow cover. I love that its hidden under a nice fun stripe so the zipper can even be on the front of the pillow.
These Red Velvet Pancakes from Taste and Tell are brilliant. I can't think of anything I would rather eat on Valentine's Day. Except of course for her Red Velvet Donuts!
File this away to make for a Superbowl snack or just a yummy treat during cocktail hour. Brooke at Cheeky Kitchen shares her recipe for making creamy avocado dip and baked taco potato chips.
On girl's forehead: EGYPT (Misr)
On flag: I love you, Egypt (bahabik ya Misr)
epa02548880 Egyptians pray near Egypt national flags during a demonstration in Cairo, Egypt, 25 January 2011. Local media sources reported that Egyptian riot police were out in force in Cairo 25 January as tens of thousands of Egyptians allegedly vowed to back a call for the planned nationwide anti- government protest. According to the Arabic-language Facebook group called Revolution Day against Torture, Poverty, Corruption and Unemployment, some 90,000 people confirmed they support the protest that was planned to coincide with Egypt's Police Day on 25 January. The government said the protest was unauthorized and warned that police "will deal firmly and decisively" with anyone attempting to take part. Media reported that at least five protesters were injured when they clashed with police in Cairo during the anti-government demonstration on 25 January. EPA/AMEL PAIN
Now THAT is what I call a party dress! I love it when designers think outside the box (or inside the skin) to create truly unique pieces :D
25,000 ping pong balls decorate this loft bedroom!
This is a fun idea - I wonder if I can convince my husband to give it a go! Maybe just on a feature wall or something :D
